How stress manifests itself in my body

When I get stressed, I get canker sores. You know those little painful ulcers in your mouth. I'm in week two of a nasty canker sore in the inside corner of my mouth. I haven't been able to eat, drink, or even talk too much. I moan and groan at work so much that my co-worker just tells me to sit there.

I hope it's cleared up before next week. Only 10 days left until our trip. So much to do and so little time. We'll make it okay. We always do.

Orajel?

Is there anything I can do to help you before you leave? I know I've been busy, but let me know.

Asslamu alaikum sister
I have no idea how your blog at this post came up but it did.
I too have a history of canker sores. I use to always get them around menses as well as during times of stress. I took a round of milk thistle. one -two caps twice a day and subhanAllah! I have had maybe one or two episodes in the last 8 years!! Please give it a try sister. Milk Thistle is an herb that helpd detoxify the liver, it is great and pretty non-toxic. I am a budding naturopath so insha Allah please try it. Jazakallah and hope you have a pleasent trip.

Asalaamo Alaykum,

Try some Hall's Vitamin C Defense. You can see a pic of it on drugstore.com. My grandfather, mom and I always get canker sores from stress and get like (no joke) 15 at one time but this seems to help clear them up.

Well I have good news, there is a canker sore drug that they sell in France that I am sure they get in Algeria. In French they are called "apthes" . A good medicine is called Pansoral, the active ingredient is Salicylate de choline.

Ugh! I get stress cankers too. I usually just do sea salt rinses throughout the day.

Canker sore sufferer right here! I'm told that certain toothpastes irritate this more than others, but like you, when I'm under stress I can feel them coming on. What works for me to prevent them is the moment I can tell that it's coming, I pop echinecea (sp) twice day (double whatever they bottle says). I do this for a couple of days. If I've caught the sore early enough, then it's fine. Someone else suggested placing an ice cube on the sore as soon as you feel it developing. Hold there for as long as you can tolerate it. I haven't tried that solution just yet.
