The answer we've been waiting for

This past Saturday, I marked the two year anniversary of my husband's departure. My family and friends have faithfully stood by my side, and they held my hand that day to help me get through it.

All of our prayers have finally been answered. Today, I found out that my husband has been approved! I can't say anything. I've been screaming, crying, jumping, praying, and thanking Allah with every single breath.

I have happiness and a sense of peace inside of me that I haven't felt in a long time. I've had dreams about this day. How would we find out? How would my husband react? He was actually the one to call and tell me. I fell to the floor crying upon hearing the sweetest words, "Honey, we're approved." He sounds so relieved. I can hear it in his voice.

First and foremost, all praise and thanks to Allah for reuniting my family. Thanks to everyone, all of my brothers and sisters, in the real and blogging worlds. Your thoughts, prayes, and kind words have gotten me through this trial. May Allah reward you all greatly for what you have offered us. Ameen.

Good things come to those who wait! Alhamdulillah a thousand times over for you dearest, sweetest sister. You have taught me so many lessons over this last year.

I love you profoundly.

Now is it as simple as getting a plane ticket?

I hope so!

And next, I can't wait to virtually pinch baby #2's cheeks :)

Thank you everyone! This day has been like a dream. My husband is trying to control himself, but in random moments I can see a small smile on his face. The webcam has been a blessing to us throughout this journey. Today, he said see you soon. He really will, and it will no longer be on a computer.

Lisa: It's not as easy as getting a plane ticket, but at this point just knowing he is approved I really don't care. Knowing that we overcame a lifetime ban is completely exhilarating. We were up against a lot, and if it weren't for my sweet little son and his "messed up" heart we may not have been approved.

The embassy will wait for the hard copy of the approval which will probably take 30 days. He will then redo medical and fingerprints/background check. My son will go to LA with my mom in June as planned, and hopefully my husband will be home by early August. After two years, I surely can wait a few more months knowing that he WILL COME HOME.

I think the time will go really fast as summer generally does. Particularly with your son going in June with grandma. Once husband's green card was approved after 5 years, it took about 30 days to get the card, and it felt like nothing after that 5 years.

I can only imagine how you are feeling right now! Thank goodness for webcams, but there is just no comparison to the real thing. I have the feeling that you will be headed to work with a smile on your face for quite some time. Oh UmmAbdurRahman, thank you for letting us all be part of your journey. Thank you for showing us how to overcome obstacles. We can't wait to see what the next chapter brings you. Love you so much, and I will never stop praying that your happily ever after is finalized.
