For now

For now, I'm just hoping for a nice weekend inshaAllah. Eid was.......horrible. I had to work the night before and Abdu had school early in the morning. We had a nice lunch after school was over, and I slept most of the day. I don't have much motivation to get out and visit with people. Honsetly, I don't care about anyone else. I just want my husband, but I'll try not to think about that too much right now.

I'm hoping to get out of the house with the kid today. Right now I'm making tiramisu and for dinner we will have moussaka and breadsticks. Weekends pretty much revolve around food in this house. It keeps me busy and ensures that we have nice things to eat during the week.

I hope everyone had a nice Eid and enjoys the weekend.

Why do you refer to your son as "the kid"... it just seems so distant... don't you have a more endearing name for him than "the kid".. ??
don't mean to be rude, but just wondering. Maybe it's normal where you come from, but it just sounds strange over here. I mean, he's not just "the kid", he's your dear son for goodness sakes.
Just wondering is all. Please don't take that in a bad way, ok.
Eid Mubarak to you and hope your weekend goes ok!

Ummi salamu alaikum and thanks for stopping by. It's something my friend and I have always called him when speaking about him. Don't mean it in a bad way and FYI I never call him "kid" to his face. Hey kid come here! NEVER. He is almost 100% if the time referred to as honey, baby, sweetie pie and Abdu.

in my head I will find myself referring to my husband as "Mr. Man", it in no way means I don't love him, I just like to think of him as "Mr. Man" because, well he is.

I've never seen a mom as loving and playful with her son as UmmAbdu.

"Shukran habibi"
"Afwan habeebatee!"

Still sticks in my head mashAllah.

Eid Mubarak honeybunch, I'm praying for you.

Asalaam alaikum,

Swinging by here to convey belated Eid greetings..

It's been a little while..

Our Eid, uneventful, pretty dull really. All the fun kids events the various masjids put on were going on in the evening, running into maghrib and beyond...not having a mahram can be a downer :( Oh well, maashaAllah! Kids have found there own fun though, alhumduhlillah.

You hang in there...I'm glad to come back and read that you are still doing well through your trial, alhumduhlillah.

Assalaamu alaikum,

Sorry Eid was not good sis - I guess when your family is split like this it would be hard to enjoy fully. :(

Insha'Allah you and your son have a nice weekend and go easy on the Tiramisu! lol (I tend to go overboard and eat most of it myself!)

Aslamu alaum sis
i am sorry Allah al must'aan , i am have been making dua for you sis , no new then with the immgration about when any hope? It's not easy sis i know be strong, its a test from allah and he is testing you sister. I know you get good days and bad but never give up hope.

I did note Ramandan and Eid in algeria alone was horrible too sometime at the onset of fasting we felt miserable as with out there 'kids' abi there its just didn't feel complete. This was our first full ranamdan together in 3yrs and mashaallah alhamduialh it was nice infact great but he was invited to eat away on day and we all felt sad 'kids' and all. may Allah ease your suffering and may you have the happyiest of eids to come ameen

I made mousaka too during the week!

Ya. "The kid" is definitely an inside endearing name for me. If you meet Abdu you will understand why we call him that.

P.S: I love "the kid" more than anything in the world. I am his silly gullible aunty who races him before lunch but not after!
